Stimulus Funding Update - Slides and Podcast from April 21st Webinar
Webinar Overview: To our clients and industry colleagues: The convergence of the fast-moving recovery bill, a complex appropriations process, and uncertainty about SAFETEA-LU reauthorization makes this a critical time for our industry. To support our clients and their Boards, Veolia is presenting a series of NEED TO KNOW Webinars featuring experts on these topics. The April 21st webinar featured Susan Schruth, Associate Administrator of Program Management for the FTA, who is a very experienced and respected leader at the FTA. She is an expert in ARRA funding procedures and requirements, as well as FTA's programs. The webinar also featured Sherry Little, Former Acting Administrator/Deputy Administrator of FTA, who authored several Senate versions of SAFETEA. Sherry presented information on how existing Capital Cost of Contracting provisions may allow the use of Federal stimulus dollars to support contracted transit services. Sherry is now a partner in Spartan Solutions. Sherry Little and Veolia Advisory Board members (Former Congressman, Sherry Boehlert, and Former New Jersey Commissioner of Transportation, Tom Downs) gave their outlook for the upcoming House and Senate SAFETEA reauthorization process.
