Commuter rail, one of Veolia’s key sectors, is a fast, environmentally-friendly alternative for residents of suburban areas. We help our riders bypass congested highways and get to and from downtown destinations safely, quickly and conveniently.

Some of our flagship US operations include:

• Boston, the largest contracted-out commuter rail operation in the US, where we operate 500 trains carrying 140,000 passengers a day
• South Florida, where we’ve brought a new level of reliability and on-time performance to the Tri-Rail commuter line linking Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach
• Los Angeles, where our team operating the Metrolink system (operated by Connex Railroad, LLC) regularly scores very well in customer satisfaction surveys (over 95%).

Internationally, we’re delivering solutions in Melbourne, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand: we operate the entire commuter rail system in both cities.
