Veolia brings a systematic approach to vehicle buying, factoring in everything from pre-delivery to eventual disposal. We help our clients assess the suitability of each candidate vehicle to the demands of the job. We determine how each fits into existing infrastructure and maintenance regimens. We compare the feasibility of different fuel options (such as biodiesel, for instance), and different power systems (such as hybrid electric). We evaluate the overall cost-effectiveness and sustainability of each choice, and help our clients decide.

Our expertise has translated into significant savings for our clients. When the Baltimore City Health Department followed our purchase recommendation in 2006 for cutaway style buses, the fuel economy of its fleet more than doubled, and maintenance costs have been greatly reduced.

Veolia Transportation can also help clients develop specifications for custom vehicles, retrofits and upgrades. We perform component failure analysis, vehicle overhauls and warranty administration. We use our well-developed relationships with many vehicle manufacturers and suppliers to provide feedback.
