Customizable InfrastructureSince no two cities are alike, Veloway offers clients many options for infrastructure customization within two basic programs: Veloway Mobile and Veloway Park. Using Veloway Mobile or SmartPass With the mobile phone option, a code is sent to a customer via text message. The customer then enters the code and releases the bike. With SmartPass, the customer swipes a pass to release a bike, similar to the fare box on a city bus. Bikes are parked at highly flexible “pods” (attractive bike racks) that are easy to implement, requiring no alterations to city streets. Parking spaces can be installed in less than 30 minutes and since rental stations are attached with special bolts, they can be placed on any street or attached to the side of a building. As an option, Veloway offers a range of street furniture (racks, shelters, signage) if Transit Authorities want more visible stations. For security, bicycles are attached to pods through a secure cord system. These stations are usually located in dense areas like a city center, with an average of 1 station every 300 yards including locations such as transit centers. Using Veloway Park With this option, passengers pick up bikes from a state-of-the-art bicycle rental and parking facility, usually located at transit centers. Bicycles are stored in a building or garage. Riders have access to the secure space and security is maintained through our patented technology. Riders can park their own private bikes here or rent our shared bicycles. They enter and exit the facility only through a turnstile, while the bikes can only enter and exit the facility through a special bicycle “pass-through” area. This ensures tight security of the bikes. Designed to minimize the need for minimal operations staff, Veloway Park is highly automated. Riders can make a reservation to make sure a space or bike is available. These large-scale parking facilities are usually located at transit centers or heavily-used, multi-modal transit connection points. |
